This past April the Bayou Business Association hosted Pasco Paddlepalooza 2015. The 3 day paddlesport race weekend included entertainment, vendors, Dragon Boat Races in the Bayou, a kayak race in Werner Boyce Salt Springs State Park and a paddle craft race along the Cotee River from New Port Richey to Port Richey. The BBA plans to hold the event annually. With help from Visit Pasco, Lucas & Magazine and over 30 sponsors and volunteers, the BBA was able to raise money to give back to the community.

On June 2, 2015 The Bayou Business Association gave $1000.00 to the New Port Richey Parks and Recreation Department to support the Summer Camp Program at the Rec Center. The BBA’s Treasurer, Kristin Tonkin, presented the check to the city’s Parks and Recreation Director, Elaine Smith, during the New Port Richey City Council Meeting. The City Council and City Staff were grateful to receive the gift.
